The 5 Hour Group

On Tuesday at noon, when it was announced that the marathon on shore was canceled, we took matters into our own hands.

If we couldn’t get off the ship to run a marathon, then, we’d just have to run it on the ship.

Beginning Tuesday, February 6th at 3:10 PM with the 5 hour group on the sixth deck and the _ marathoners on the fifth deck, we set out to conquer Antarctica our own way.

The ship sailed 60 nautical miles through the Bransfield Strait while we completed the marathon.

The full marathon distance was 422 laps around the top deck.
