2001 Walt Disney Marathon Report
Kathy Flippo--43 year old wife, mother of three, and a member of the Penguin Brigade--lined up at the start of the Walt Disney World Marathon on January 7, 2001 with all the hope one can muster after six months of marathon training. She had successfully completed the Marine Corps Marathon in October 2000. Of her race at Disney, she writes "I asked for greater speed; they sent me humility." (Read Kathy's full report here.)
